I started working at my parents’ diner when I was 11 years old. By the time I was 16, I was running the Front of House, serving 200+ customers a day, and helping my customers find the best item on our (extensive!) menu that THEY would love. That girl could SELL. I call her Cafe Tracy.

Wave 101: Less But Better Bookkeeping

How Cafe Tracy would describe it…

OMG, this is how I do my books myself (instead of hiring a bookkeeper) using a free accounting software that works GREAT (instead of paying a bunch for QuickBooks). With this process it only takes like 30 minutes MAX, once a month, to categorize all my transactions (even though my bank is stupid and I can’t even use the auto-import/auto-categorize function that would make it so much faster), see my (auto-generated) Profit and Loss report so I can pay myself, my taxes, and my profits, AND budget for the upcoming month. AND at tax time, I just download the couple reports that my accountant needs, and I’m able to send it off in like 5 minutes. When I told him about the process I teach in Wave 101, he said “I wish you could teach all my clients!”
